Brinkley not a great leader
The best leader in the general assembly is someone who leads by example in both the legislature and in their community. They should set an example and be someone our young people can look up to. With the recent reports that Brinkley has had a long extramarital affair and was not focused on his marriage or his job, he has not demonstrated the values or discipline of a great leader. He has lost the trust of his family and the people he serves. I cast a vote against Brinkley.
Annapolitian – Would you
Annapolitian – Would you prefer that O’Donnell bend with the wind or go along to get along? With an impotent state party and an unorganized Senate that would rather fire inward, O’Donnell has been able to hold his group together and the Republicans in the house have been the only consistent opposition and alternative to the leftist policies in Annapolis. Even this left leaning blog has given O’Donnell credit for forcing the Governor’s hand regarding the death penalty. Its leadership - not bellicosity - when you fight what needs to be fought.
General Assembly leadership
It's remarkable that there are PolitickerMD readers who might think Anthony O'Donnell is an effective leader. I've seen effective GOP leaders. Bobby Neall and Jack Cade had clout despite their party's minority status. Tony ain't effective, he's just bellicose.
the general state of affairs
As a life-long (61 years) inmate of the People's Police State of Maryland, I observe that Maryland politics is about as dirty and corrupt as any in the nation, including Alaska. One party rule is the bane of our state politics. I even watch Nancy Pelosi destroying our Congress and reflect that she learned how to play her game right here in Maryland at the feet of her nasty family. Yuch!
