Patience, Doug Gansler, climb the ladder

John Edwards was thought by many to be on the shortlist for Barack Obama's attorney general pick, and today makes it all the more likely that he'll have to dig a bit deeper to find the right person.

He'll need someone upstanding with accomplishments of substance while having also tried some meaty cases. Even better, someone who understands politics and how to get elected. Now where could he find someone like that?
