From the non-partisan
From the non-partisan "CampaignDiaries.com":
"...it is somewhat surprising that Harris has taken the step of releasing a poll in which he is as low as 44% in a district that voted for Bush with 62% of the vote. Not to mention that there is reason to be skeptical of this internal poll, whose sample is only 300 voters... [I]t says something about the GOP’s anxieties over its open seats that this survey is considered good news by the Republican candidate."
Where's Horace...
Harris released his poll numbers, Horace. Those numbers show that he's up 16, and beats Kratovil by 24 points in a comparison of favorables.
Your silence on this matter is deafening.
Thundering silence.
That's An Interesting Way Of Looking At It, Dr. A...
What are your thoughts, now that the poll numbers have been released? Any shift in your opinion on the likelihood of Kratovil winning the 1st CD given that it's July and nearly a quarter of the voters haven't heard of him?
Care to Revise That Statement, Henry?
First of all, neither candidate can lead in "undecided voters who know both candidates". By definition they're "undecided". You can have people who "lean" one way or another, but that's not a very good metric (though we understand why you tried to cherry-pick it).
Harris leads substantially in the hard numbers. He leads substantially in the favorables. He continues to lead Kratovil in the "heard of" numbers.
Kratovil leads in the unfavorables, though it's within the margin of error. Nevertheless, its surprising.
What's interesting to me is, that in going back and looking through your prose on this subject, and Johnson Lineir's, you both use the phrase of Meekins "shouting from the rooftops".
Wow...the ability (or lack
Wow...the ability (or lack thereof) of people to understand concepts on this site astounds me. Polls aren't done overnight...so a disbursement in May could possibly be for a poll done in June and released in July...who knew?
Harris Supporters
Your silence on this matter is deafening.
Thundering silence.
And the bad news keeps coming
Seems like the Harris campaign is scared by their own poll numbers. Every day it seems more likely that Kratovil is going to win district 1.
Andy hears the footsteps...
...to perform a poll in the first place in mid-May is a negative sign for Harris.
Lord knows Harris and Meekins would be shouting from the rooftops if the poll demonstrated that his ultra-right wing platform was connecting with the 1st District.
More likely is that the poll showed that Kratovil continues to lead Harris amongst undecided voters who know both candidates, and the campaign elected to sweep that under the rug.
Referring to the poll
