As Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign winds down, the prospects of a cabinet post relaunching the political career of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend look less and less likely.
So where else could she re-emerge on the political scene? One major newspaper suggests it's in the U.S. Senate.
Calm down, Mikulski-ites -- the Boston Herald is floating her as a potential (albeit, highly unorthodox) successor to her Uncle Teddy's Massachusetts Senate seat were his condition to worsen.
This borders on the absurd, of course. Last we checked, Kennedy Townsend was living with her husband in the 'burbs of Baltimore, while the Bay State kept a Democratic bench that would make the 1928 New York Yankees jealous (recall the squabbling over who would replace President John Kerry?).
