Van Hollen's oppo punch

The Hill has a piece out this morning about the success of Chris Van Hollen's early hardball tactics in discouraging Republican incumbents and challengers to the 30 freshman Democrats from running this year. He credits much of it to taking the opposition research operation in-house at the DCCC, and his efforts have now turned to targetting even more incumbents -- something few thought possible.

"Some people would have thought it would be crazy to take this [job] on, given the historical math, but so far it has turned out."

The piece also includes an excerpt of their interview with him on subjects like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the presidential race, bittergate and Jeremiah Wright.
