Spring fundraising season is a lot like winter fundraising season

Former Gov. Bob Ehrlich will address the St. Mary’s County Republican Central Committee’s Ronald Reagan Day Dinner tonight in Callaway. Tickets to the cash bar event are $50 a piece.

Former Lt. Gov. Michael Steele also hosts a Reagan Day Dinner for the Cecil County GOP Central Committee in Charlestown tomorrow night, but the big one lies beyond our state’s borders in Richmond, Virginia.

There, Sen. Ben Cardin will join several of his caucus colleagues at a Jim Webb-hosted Friday night fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Other attendees include Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senators Chuck Schumer, Patrick Leahy, Carl Levin, Patty Murray, Tim Johnson, Bill Nelson and Ken Salazar. This one will run you a bit more: $1,000 to attend, $5,000 to host, and with some even giving the committee the legal max of $28,500.
