Endorsement

The Washington Post's editorial board endorsed Democrat Frank Kratovil for Congress on Wednesday.

Kratovil, the Queen Anne's County state Attorney, is currently running against state Sen. Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville) for Maryland's open 1st Congressional seat. The Post praised Kratovil, calling him a thoughtful candidate and a moderate.

"Mr. Harris is a staunch conservative who would bring another partisan voice to Washington," the Post's editorial board wrote. "Mr. Kratovil is an independent-minded moderate whom Mr. Gilchrest crossed party lines to endorse."

The Baltimore Examiner endorsed Republican Andy Harris for Maryland's 1st Congressional District on Sunday.

"With a strong likelihood Democrats will control both the White House and Congress, it is more important than ever to elect candidates from the minority," wrote the Examiner's editorial board."For that reason alone, all voters in the First District should support Republican Andy Harris."
