Key factors add up to big youth presence in Maryland's Dem primary

COLLEGE PARK -- The day before Sen. Barack Obama was due at the Comcast Center in College Park, the Clinton campaign abruptly rolled its resident young person out from the inner sanctum, Chelsea Clinton, who participated in a question and answer session with University of Maryland students. The message from Clinton seemed to be that although Obama may land on the ground on the eve of Election Day and bedazzle the big crowd in the big venue, Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign not only cares, but cared enough to dispatch a wonkish Chelsea, who subtly wowed her audience on Sunday with details more than raise-the-roof rhetoric.

Perhaps acknowledging the uphill climb that he faces, Huckabee told the crowd of largely college students, that he “did not major in math, but majored in miracles.”

“And I still believe in (miracles),” he added.
