This morning, Tom LoBianco of the Washington Times floats the idea that the 1st District race may be beyond Frank Kratovil's reach.

He plays the gamut of the voting history and redistricting and also consults two of the major political soothsayers -- David Wasserman and Larry J. Sabato -- to confirm his suspicions.

Sayeth Sabato: "Let's see whether [Wayne] Gilchrest endorses the Democrat."

Sorry, Larry. No dice.

In private, conservatives are absoluting loving Comptroller Peter Franchot right now, so you can't really blame Washington Times reporter Tom LoBianco for this.
