Kratovil says Harris would be ‘one of the most conservative people in Congress’

Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville), was "divisive" and would be "one of the most conservative people in Congress."

Kratovil said he expected the Harris campaign would continue to attempt to link him to Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) and U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

"He says I would vote straight party line because that's what he does," Kratovil said of Harris. "He votes straight party line."

"I'll vote the way I think is appropriate," Kratovil said.

Lafferty considering state Senate run if Brochin steps aside

Del. Stephen LaffertyDel. Stephen LaffertyDel. Stephen Lafferty (D-Stoneleigh) told PolitickerMD.com that he would look at the prospects of running for state Senate if Sen. James Brochin (D-Towson) declines to seek re-election in 2010. Brochin has expressed interest in running for the position of county executive in Baltimore County, but has yet to announce any formal plans.

"One always has to keep their options open," Lafferty said, adding that the current buzz surrounding a possible Senate run is "speculation" and "premature."
