Lt. Gov. hires new communications director, promotes deputy press secretary

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D-Baltimore) is rearranging his press office.                                         

Brown's former press secretary, Nancy Lineman, left the lieutenant governor's office in July for a position at the Maryland Department of Human Recourses.

On Wednesday, former deputy press secretary Mike Raia announced he would be taking over the role as press secretary.

Barbara Streeter will hop on board in mid-October to fill the new position of communications director. Streeter currently works on community relations at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Prince George's County.

Lineman to leave Lt. Gov’s office

Nancy Lineman, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown's press secretary, will be leaving the lieutenant governor's office next week for a position at the Maryland Department of Human Recourses. The departure was announced last month. 

In an interview with PolitickerMD.com, Deputy Press Secretary Michael Raia said the lieutenant governor's office was in the process of determining what direction they wanted to go with the position and that applications had been submitted.
