Surveillance review findings released

An independent review of the Maryland Surveillance Program released its findings on Wednesday.

Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-Baltimore) joined former state Attorney General Stephen H. Sachs, and state police Colonel Terrence B. Sheridan to release the findings of the controversial spying program conducted by state police from March 2005 through May 2006.

AP: ACLU says additional groups were spied on

The Maryland Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union said it filed public information requests Tuesday to determine if state police had been spying on additional organizations, according to the Associated Press.

The ACLU released documents over the summer that showed state police had been conducting undercover surveillance on anti-war protestors and death penalty opponents from March 2005-May 2006.

ACLU attorney David Roach said the request covered another 32 groups - two of which his organization determined were targeted by the Maryland Surveillance Program.

Review of police surveillance program to release findings

An independent review of the Maryland Surveillance Program will release its findings on Wednesday.

Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-Baltimore) will join state police Colonel Terrence B. Sheridan and former state Attorney General Stephen H. Sachs to make the findings public at a press conference on Wednesday.
