Former delegate attacked by wild deer, but doesn't miss meeting with House speaker

Delegate-turned-lobbyist Gilbert Genn (D-Montgomery County) was attacked by a wild deer last week, but that didn't stop him from attending his scheduled meeting with state House Speaker Michael E. Busch (D-Annapolis) before heading to the hospital.

Genn was leaving his Gaithersburg home Thursday to walk his dog, Yuffie, when the deer charged at him, according to WTOPnews.com.

"[Yuffie] started circling it, and the deer didn't run. "At that point I tore down the driveway screaming 'Yuffie get away.'"

But the deer cut Yuffie off from his owner, according to WTOPnews.com, and stabbed Genn several times with its antlers.
