Was Wargotz warned about robocalls?

Queen Anne's County Republican Central Committee member Andrew Langer claims Republican County Commissioner Eric Wargotz was given plenty of warning before the central committee launched robocalls against him last week. But Wargotz insists he wasn't contacted at all.

The central committee began protesting the "Rural Preservation and Development Act" last week, arguing Ordinance 08-25 violated the core principles of the Republican Party. Wargotz introduced the controversial bill on Oct. 28, but the central committee didn't respond to it until after the election.

Wargotz told PolitickerMD.com on Friday that he was disappointed with the central committee and claimed they never contacted him before going forward with the robocall. However, Langer claimed Wargotz, "was well on notice."

Langer, who said the robocalls went out Tuesday, claimed the central committee had an email conversation with Wargotz last weekend. He also noted the central committee mailed a letter to Wargotz last Monday.

"Eric was warned," Langer said.

Land ordinance sparks intra-GOP feud in Queen Anne's County

It's Republican versus Republican in Queen Anne's County.

Eric Wargotz, the only Republican on the Queen Anne's County Commission, found himself the target of a robocall this week when the Queen Anne's County Republican Central Committee began protesting the "Rural Preservation and Development Act" - a piece of legislation Wargotz introduced.

"Commissioner Wargotz has proposed County Ordinance 08-25 that will substantially reduce land values in Queen Anne's County. A hearing on the Ordinance will be held on Thursday, November 13th at 2:30 PM at the Planning Commission offices in Centreville," the robocall says. "Make your voice heard by attending the hearing or contacting the Commissioners to express your views. Do not let our elected officials steal your personal property rights. Paid for by the Queen Anne's County Republican Central Committee."

Jay Falstad, the chairman of the Republican Environmental Alliance PAC, said he was outraged by the robocall.
