An analysis conducted by the Citizens Against Government Waste, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit group, determined Van Hollen was the second of the “top three porkers” in the U.S. House.

If you take a historical look at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s upgrade of the First district’s Frank Kratovil to their Red-to-Blue program two weeks ago, you may find yourself asking, ‘Why?’

Because outside of a self-funder or war hero, rookie candidates in red districts don’t get this kind of national attention.

I write to respectfully request your participation in several debates and town hall meetings over the next few months before the November election to be hosted throughout our district.

Created in 1892, the Order of Orange-Nassau was designed to recognize extraordinary service to society and is a royal honor of the Dutch Monarchy. Her Majesty the Queen presides as the Grand Master of the Order, though, all nominations for the Order of Orange-Nassau are evaluated on a national basis by the Civil Honors Advisory Commission of the Netherlands.

SILVER SPRING, MD - The recent water main break in Montgomery county has highlighted many problems that extend way beyond the inconvenience of having to "boil water" for a few days. This incident identified issues with the integrity of our infrastructure, capacity of the emergency communications systems, preparedness to react and implement resources to an emergency situation in a timely manner, lack of public information, awareness and preparedness. Had this been a terrorist incident, we would have been paralyzed thanks to total a lack of preparedness on the part of our elected leaders.
