Hail Mary: Not the pass, the voter

I have a remarkable family relation down in the Deep South. Mary is an 88 year-old pistol of a preacher’s daughter; born, raised and lived in Alabama all her life. She’s no liberal, never smoked or drank and went to the Methodist Church Every Sunday morning and every Wednesday night. She speaks her mind. She’s nobody’s fool, either.

When George Bush made HIS decision to invade Iraq (Because that is what Congress gave him – the authority to make his own decision.) she called me to say simply, “I think he’s gone mad.”

She did not mean angry, either.

Carey says Kratovil ‘could do well in Bel Air’

DENVER – Bel Air Town Commissioner Dave Carey (D) says the race between state's Attorney Frank Kratovil (D-Stevensville) and state Sen. Andy Harris (R-Cockeysville) is wide open at this point.

Though Carey – who works on Kratovil’s Hartford county team – acknowledged that the 1st Congressional District is “reliably Republican,” he did say that Kratovil’s “message of moderation on the environment and bipartisanship is gonna play well” in the town of Bel Air.

“As people get to know Frank Kratovil, they’ll think of him as a worthy successor to [Republican U.S. Rep. Wayne] Gilchrest,” he told PolitickerMD.com. It “will be well known that Harris has an abysmal record on the environment,” he added.

Dr. Mike Hargadon Applauds Dropping of All Charges Against Peaceful Demonstrators

On August 1, 2008, 18 peaceful demonstrators, including 10 teenagers, were arrested by Maryland State Troopers along Route 24 in Bel Air.  Jack Ames, director of Defend Life, reported that all of the demonstrators were arrested without warning, they were not read their rights, and they were held overnight without access to a lawyer.  Additionally, he said that most of those arrested were not allowed a single phone call while incarcerated.
