Dr. Mike Hargadon Applauds Dropping of All Charges Against Peaceful Demonstrators

On August 1, 2008, 18 peaceful demonstrators, including 10 teenagers, were arrested by Maryland State Troopers along Route 24 in Bel Air.  Jack Ames, director of Defend Life, reported that all of the demonstrators were arrested without warning, they were not read their rights, and they were held overnight without access to a lawyer.  Additionally, he said that most of those arrested were not allowed a single phone call while incarcerated.

The Sun endorses Gilchrest

Says Pipkin "A Suitable Successor" One Day

This morning, the Baltimore Sun endorsed the re-nomination of First District Republican Wayne Gilchrest, while issuing a strong condemnation of the general tenor in the race.

Of all the swirling attack ads, the Sun editorial board implies, ‘They may be Republicans, but they're not stupid' - albeit in politer terms.

"Voters in the district... are generally more conservative and George W. Bush-supportive than voters elsewhere in Maryland, but they are not so easily deceived."
