Baltimore Jewish GOP kickoff with Ari Fleischer

Ari FleischerAri FleischerFormer White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer will appear at the Pikesville Hilton this Sunday for a kickoff fundraiser sponsored by the Baltimore chapter of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Besides the Kosher Hors d’oeuvres, guests will be treated to Fleischer’s presentation titled, "Road to the White House 2008 and what it means to the Jewish community and Israel."

Another topic of interest might be the announcement earlier this week that the former flack is teaming up with IMG, “the world's premier sports, entertainment and media company,” to create Ari Fleischer Sports Communications to “offer management advisory services, including media training and interview preparation, image management, crisis management and media relations to a wide range of athletes, coaches and high-profile sports industry executives.”

Vigorous Van Hollen constrains Rove on Fox News Sunday

Chris Van Hollen spends much of his time these days recruiting candidates, raising money and serving as a mouthpiece for the Democratic Congress.

It was in this capacity Sunday morning that he took on Karl Rove, former chief political adviser to President Bush, on Fox News Sunday.

Mike Wallace moderated this debate between what he described as "two of the sharpest minds" in American politics - or at least he tried to.

Because a vigorous Van Hollen showed no compunction in getting physical - metaphorically and literally - with a heavier-looking Rove, who may be out of the West Wing but remains a boogeyman in the minds of Democrats.
