Names get tossed around pretty easily when you co-wrote one of the most influential financial laws in history. It's only natural that influential people will influence things that are influential.

For example, former Sen. Paul Sarbanes found himself on the op-ed page of today's Washington Post as a potential head of the Smithsonian Institution, "the county's largest and most presitigous museum complex."
Sarbanes could not be reached for comment.
