Ron Paul's organizers in Maryland released the names of their congressional candidates and the district delegates last night. Supporters of Paul's presidential candidacy are standing for the Republican nominations to Congress in all six Democratic-held districts, and none in the two held by Republicans.
Dr. Melissa Deckman, a political science professor at Washington College, said Paul's candidacy has become "a protest movement" appealing to "those who believe the national GOP has gotten away from its core principles of low taxes and a limited role for the federal government," and in that sense, the Paul congressional candidates "are part of this larger movement to shape their party - not to win elections."
"If they can go to the convention, they have more say in shaping the platform, but they are still really a minority presence," Deckman said.

Ron Paul --- An Affirmation of Individual Liberty
The campaign for Ron Paul is not a 'protest'. It is an affirmation of principles. Over 200 years ago these principles were embodied in a set of rules intent upon guiding a nation. These principles are now being re-affirmed through action. Our freedom, and the freedom of our friends and countrymen is too important to be left to chance. Others have already let us down. We are out to win.
Joe Arminio is Ron Paul cand. in MD 1st Dist.
CORRECTION: Maryland's 1st Cong. Dist. DOES have a Ron Paul organizer candidate - Dr Joe Arminio!
Long-time incumbent RINO/Neocon Wayne Gilchrest finally has a challenger in JOE ARMINO who is TRUE to traditional Republican principles.
All the others are also either RINOs or Neocons who represent the SOS.
Ron Paul Delegates
For anyone who thinks a 'fringe' candidate like Ron Paul should not take part in the debates, that talk should end now. Some of the more established campaigns came up short on Delegates or Alternates. That said, it's time for Tancrado and Hunter to bow out. It doesn't appear the they have any organisation here at all. dm
