To poll or not to poll: A Gilchrest gripe with the NRCC

A new National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) poll shows state Sen. Andy Harris leading QA State’s Attorney Frank Kratovil by as much as 15 points, 37% to 22%.

The NRCC did not poll for defeated incumbent Rep. Wayne Gilchrest, who the group supported and fundraised for.

Right on cue, top Gilchrest aide Tony Caligiuri is blasting the group.

“They never offered to do any polling for us or really do anything financially for us before the primary, yet they were polling the Harris-Kratovil race, which was kind of a curious thing,” Caligiuri is quoted telling tomorrow’s edition of The Hill.

“The fact that they spent however much it costs to test Harris in a poll without ever doing anything to support the incumbent is kind of a chilling message to incumbents.”

Caliguiri acknowledges Gilchrest is not likely to endorse his primary foe.

So, now the question is, 'Will Gilchrest endorse Kratovil in the spring, summer or the fall?'
