Last night, Wayne Gilchrest's campaign sent out what we'll term a 'semi-release' to reporters with the subject, "Political observation."
The e-mail pointed to an "interesting commentary from a political observer in Anne Arundel County" - a.k.a. RedMaryland's Brian Griffiths.
Usually an agitator of the Maryland Republican Party's status quo, Griffiths created a bit of a blogstorm the other day when he turned on fellow GOP insurgent state Sen. Andy Harris with an "un-endorsement" akin to some of the editorials Mitt Romney's been receiving in New Hampshire lately.
The gist of the Griffiths piece is that "the Andy Harris campaign has virtually no substance to it" with "this constant drumbeat of attack attack attack" that is "unbecoming of a United States Congressman."
To be fair to Harris, Griffiths has been skeptical of his chances - in both the primary and the general against Frank Kravotil - all along.
