O'Malley appoints Carr to replace Lawton

Governor Martin O’Malley has chosen Kensington Councilman Al Carr to serve the remainder of Delegate Jane Lawton’s term.

“I am honored to nominate Al Carr to fill Delegate Jane Lawton’s seat in the Maryland House of Delegates,” said O’Malley.  “Mr. Carr has been a dedicated public servant in the town of Kensington, and I look forward to working with him in his new role as we work to improve the quality of life for residents in District 18, Montgomery County, and our entire State.”

Last week, the Maryland County Democratic Committee officially recommended Carr to succeed Lawton.
