GOP support still evenly spread

More or less, Maryland’s Republican activists are still evenly spread between the major presidential candidates.

Monday night’s Ronald Reagan Dinner also polled for the top ’08 contenders. The results were:

Romney 28.3%
Guiliani 27.6%
Huckabee 16%
Thompson 13%
McCain 10%
Paul 2%

While it preceded McCain’s Tuesday New Hampshire win, that was expected and likely had little effect.

It shows that in Maryland — like much of the country — Republican bigwigs remain split. This contest could go a long way.
