Republican U.S. Congressman Wayne Gilchrest, who is running for re-election in the First District, has picked up the endorsement of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Gingrich will make an appearance at a January 10 fundraising dinner for the eight-term Congressman, the Gilchrest campaign announced today. Joining Gingrich will be former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele, Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold, and Harford County Executive David Craig.
"This is a most distinguished gathering of state and national Republican leaders, and I am deeply honored to have them come together for this important effort," said Gilchrest.
