Staffers there and in his Chestertown, Salisbury and Bel Air offices are encouraging constituents to call in and discuss Bush's new proposals in the State of the Union. Even Gilchrest plans to answer the phones.
Expect a flood of e-mails from the Harris and Pipkin campaigns encouraging supporters to ring the Congressman and give them a piece of their minds.
Meanwhile, Mark Newgent of Red Maryland has learned that the National Review's John J. Miller is polishing off a major piece on the First District GOP primary, tentatively titled, ‘The Sierra Club Congressman: will conservatives revolt against Rep. Wayne Gilchrest?'
Newgent posts some excerpts that show the direction the piece will take. No word on whether the Miller has been in tow for Gilchrest's recent river-dredging trips, or if the congressman even agreed to participate in the article, scheduled to land on Feb. 11.
