Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D) and Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) are off to Denver -- and so is their website: Campaign PhotoIn preparation for the 2008 Democratic National Committee Convention, Gov. Martin O'Malley (D-Baltimore) has completely revamped his website, MartinOMalley.com, to offer Maryland Democrats an opportunity to experience the event from a V.I.P.'s standpoint.
The site will employ the latest web-applications and host daily updates, with videos and the delegation's daily caucus and reception schedules, along with blog posts from O'Malley and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown (D-Prince George's County).
O'Malley has even launched a Twitter account, so he can provide frequent status updates to curious state Democrats. "We'll send information about delegation events, the most exciting news from the convention floor, and other behind-the-scenes information you won't be able to get anywhere else," the governor says.
"By subscribing to our new Twitter feed, you'll stay up-to-the-minute with text messages that we'll send throughout the convention."
O'Malley and company will also be uploading convention photographs to the popular website Flickr to provide "exclusive photos from the convention floor and other Maryland delegation activities."
In his first blog post, O'Malley discusses the "two humbling responsibilities" of this year's convention.
"The first is to renew the timeless values that unite us and have made our party a powerful and progressive force for America's working families. The second is to choose the kind of strong leader that it will take to pick up the pieces of these disastrous last eight years and move us all forward again."
Comptroller Peter Franchot (D-Takoma Park) is also preparing to blog daily and upload videos. His most recent post touts his early support for the nominee, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, and his thoughts on the race.
"This election is going to be tough," he writes, "and Barack Obama needs Maryland to help deliver the victory and set America back on the right track."

Nice website
I don't know anything about this person or his politics. I do like his website. He incorporates many multimedia features on the front page and lays them out clearly. The twitter feed display is exactly what newspaper websites need to START discussions from breaking or "on the scene" news stories. Great use of Flickr and video.
