Bartlett failed to disclose $1M in earnings since 2004

Rep. Roscoe BartlettRep. Roscoe BartlettThe Frederick News-Post reported yesterday that Sixth district Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-Frederick) failed to disclose an estimated $1 million in income from property sales in the last four years.

The discovery was made when matching up sales from state property records and the amounts listed in Bartlett's financial disclosure forms.

Bartlett told News-Post reporter Justin Palk that the underreporting was "nothing sinister" and a simple mistake. He had also failed to disclose several loans he had made, worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Members of Congress are legally required to disclose their financial activities annually, specifying earnings. According to the latest filings, Bartlett is the wealthiest member of the Maryland congressional delegation.

More bad news for the MD GOP.

Failing to report millions in income and tens of thousands in loans...if this isn't sinister...then it's incompetence.

We already knew Harris was in trouble, but now it seems Bartlett is too.

By the way...when will you agree to debate Jennifer Dougherty and actually explain your record of being a rubber stamp for Bush to the people you represent, Mr. Bartlett?
