Former Frederick Mayor Jennifer Dougherty has secured the Democratic nomination in the Sixth District this evening, upsetting favorite Andrew Duck.
With 87% of precincts reporting, Dougherty won 20,803 votes to Duck's 17,774, or 44% to 38%.
She will face Rep. Roscoe Bartlett in November.
