Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley appeared an Democratic National Committee event Wednesday announcing the launch of a so-called McCain-Exxon campaign.
The DNC effort seeks to draw attention to presumptive Republican presidential nominee, U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) ties to big oil companies.
Speaking at the DNC headquarters in Washington, O'Malley posed next to an oversized novelty check for $2 million made out to McCain from Exxon. O'Malley blasted McCain and touted Democratic U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) energy proposals.
"The oil companies are looking for one, two, or even four more years of record profits, and John McCain is promising more of the same," O'Malley said.
"He's voted time and again against raising fuel efficiency standards. He's voted against renewable fuels and green jobs. He's made an Exxon lobbyist his Senate Chief of Staff, and he has 33 oil industry lobbyists as campaign advisors and fundraises. I guess Big Oil has gotten quite a return on their $2 million investment in John McCain."
The McCain-Exxon campaign will feature a website -- www.ExxonMcCain08.com.

O'Numbnuts should know
O'Numbnuts should know better than to cast stones at others, since he's not bright enough to duck the ones coming his way. Every time he opens his mouth we hear a huge sucking sound coming from it.
What a partisan hack. Maybe
What a partisan hack. Maybe he should spend more time in Maryland dealing with those high energy bills and gas prices.
Is it any wonder why this man is so detested? He is more partisan than Glendening.
So the same O'Taxey who
So the same O'Taxey who PROMISED to lower BGE rates had the gall to attend an energy event with Obama?
O'Malley Lies like a cheap rug
O'Malley is addicted to high and higher taxes and will say anything or do anything to stay in office so he can keep raising taxes and spending the tax payers money on failed Democratic Programs.
O'Malley is an absolute disgrace to the hard working taxpayer in Maryland. Is it any wonder that the WHITES in Maryland are moving to PA.
