In a new web video, Libertarian candidate Lorenzo Gaztanaga is attacking U.S. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger's (D-Baltimore) vote in favor of Monday's controversial bailout plan.
"Dutch Ruppersberger supported George Bush's war in Iraq, supported George Bush's Patriot Act. Now, Dutch Ruppersberger voted for George Bush's bailouts," says a narrator in the Gaztanaga video. "Don't we want a representative in office that thinks?"
The U.S. House failed the pass a $700 billion bailout package for the financial sector on Monday, prompting the U.S. Senate to vote on an updated rescue bill Wednesday evening, which passed easily.
A spokesperson for Ruppersberger was not available for comment.
First elected in 2002, Ruppersberger currently represents Maryland's 2nd Congressional District.
