Vets for Freedom PAC endorsed Republican Steve Hudson on Wednesday.
"As a proud Army veteran of Iraq, I am humbled to speak on behalf of over 27,000 members of Vets for Freedom in offering our strong endorsement of Steve Hudson for United States Congress," said the group's chair, Pete Hegseth in a statement. "He has been a steadfast source of support of all the men and women who are winning the Global War on Terror. Our country needs more people like Steve in Washington."
Hudson accepted the endorsement and touted his military credentials.
"As an 18 year veteran of the United States Navy and currently serving as a Commander in the Naval Reserve, I am honored to have received the prestigious endorsement of Vets for Freedom," said Hudson.
Hudson is currently running against incumbent U.S. Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Kensington) in Maryland's 8th Congressional District. Van Hollen defeated Republican Constance A. Morella in 2002 for the seat. The Van Hollen offices were reached for comment, but have not yet responded.

Haven't heard?
Perhaps the mainstream press could chip in on the effort. considering that the 1st amend. was created so that these organizations could freely disseminate information essential to the publics well being, it only seems fair that they inform us of our choices. And by the way, Anonymous... you just heard of him, so now you know to vote for Hudson!
SET and MATCH
i'm one up on you lion boy. i conducted the survey myself at a mall in the 8th. ten random people. not a single one of them knew either of the candidates. sad for a sitting congress man.
Not so funny
What's not so funny is that people who pride themselves on being ignorant and having ignorant friends found this website. I'm sure out of your 9 friends/family/acquaintances you are the only one who knows who Van Hollen is. But next time try using cited facts for your argument.
What's Really Funny
What's really funny is whe you ask 10 people in the 8th District who their rep is, 9 of them can't answer. This is evidence that people vote party lines without considering who the candidate is or what they stand for. Van Hollen is an unknown in his own district, and we are not better off than we were 2 years ago. Hudson seems like a solid choice to me given that both candidates are without name recognition.
I've heard of him
It's funny really. I know a good amount of people that are campaigning for him. I'm pretty sure even Republicans admit he has no shot this time though.
umm...
van hollen is an empty suit... looks like this hudson is a doc, and his served his country... wat's wrong w/ that?
Hudson Who?
Even I haven't heard of this guy.
