Friedman: ‘Our governor has shown great leadership’
By Danny Reiter, PolitickerMD.com ReporterDENVER – Columbia Democratic Club official Josh Friedman says Gov. Martin O’Malley, an early Hillary Clinton supporter, has worked to bring Democrats together behind presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama.
“Our governor has shown great leadership,” he told PolitickerMD.com. He praised O’Malley (D-Baltimore) for “setting the example of how to be a team player.”
O’Malley originally endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) during the primaries, but Friedman said he was convinced O’Malley was now “100% behind Obama.”
Friedman has not wavered in support of Obama. It’s actually been a family affair.
He is the vice-president of the Columbia Democratic Club and his wife, Lisa Lopez-Friedman, is a pledged delegate to Obama.
Friedman didn’t seem certain Clinton’s supporters wouldn’t cause a ruckus in the convention hall, but he did say “I think Maryland is solid for Obama.”
Back at home, Friedman said the Columbia Democratic Club had been focusing on making it “eight in ’08,” the Maryland Democrats slogan for trying to take control over each of the state’s congressional seats.
“If Andy Harris gets elected to Congress – that’s one less vote to end the war,” he said.

Actually, except for 1998 when Harris was unopposed (Dems didn't field a candidate expecting Vern Boozer), Harris has never exceeded 56%. This is low given Ehrlich relied on Harris' district for 65-75% of the vote.

Secondly, those "who know him best" DO vote for him. He wins his Senate seat with 60% of the vote every time. He also won the Congressional primary on the backs of Harford and Baltimore County.
