Mikulski to open ‘Checklist for Change’ panel at Democratic convention

U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Baltimore) will make the opening remarks on Tuesday's session of the Democratic National Convention. Mikulski will join a handful of other women Senators to highlight their “Checklist for Change."

“American families want change, and the women of the United States Senate are committed to helping deliver it for them,” said Mikulski in a statement. “From pay equity to protecting the family checkbook, making health care affordable and taking care of our military families, there is a clear difference between the two parties and the two candidates. Voters have a clear choice this year. If they want to move the country forward, the women of the United States Senate stand ready to deliver our Checklist for Change.”

The dean of women Senators was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986. Mikulski was re-elected in 2004 with 65% of the vote against state Sen. E.J. Pipkin.

The Democratic Party will be holding its national convention from August 25-28 in Denver, Colorado. The Republican Party will hold its convention a week later in St. Paul, Minnesota.

PolitickerMD.com will be reporting from both Denver and St. Paul.

Hey Babs, Since when is it the responsibility of the government to "protecting the family checkbook"? Where is that in the 17 Enumerated powers the Constitution gives the feds? "American families want change"? What kind of change? What have those families told you? You didn't ask my family.
Do you mean they want to KEEP THEIR CHANGE? If your bud Barry is elected, thats all we will have left is change!!!!
