Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown travels to Cleveland, Ohio tomorrow to attend the Democratic Party's first public Platform Drafting Committee meeting. Brown was named to DNC's Platform Drafting Committee in early July. Gov. Janet Napolitano (D- Ariz.) will be chairing the committee.
"Our Democratic Party has long been the party that stands with and for our veterans. Our Party won two world wars. Our Party envisioned a free and democratic Europe and made it possible with the Marshall Plan. Our Party passed the GI Bill which sent more Americans to college than had ever dreamed it possible," said Brown in a statement. "And when John McCain, George Bush and the Republican Party stood in the way of a new GI Bill for a new generation of heroes, our Party stood up for veterans and their families. I look forward to engaging in this dialogue in Cleveland about the direction our Party will take in Denver and I will work to ensure that we, as Democrats, continue to be the party that stands with and for our veterans."
