Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown (D) was elected Friday as treasurer of the National Lieutenant Governors Association.
“NLGA is an important fraternity of bipartisan public servants and I am proud that my colleagues from across the country have trusted me with this new responsibility. I am excited to work with Lieutenant Governor Lawton and the entire NLGA executive committee to ensure that this organization remains the vibrant and influential body it is,” Brown said in a statement. “I look forward to welcoming all my fellow lieutenant governors to Maryland next summer when we can again share our thoughts and learn from each others’ accomplishments.”
Brown officially took over as treasurer on Friday and will hold the position for a full year. Prior to this new role, Brown was the regional chair of the NLGA South Executive Committee.
