Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon named Demanue Millard as her new chief of staff on Friday.
Prior to his appointment as Dixon’s chief of staff, Millard served the mayor as Director of the Office of Governmental Relations since January 2007. He also served as a principle legislative liaison to the Maryland Department of Transportation for four years and has worked as a legislative aide for U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Baltimore).
“Demaune has been an important member of my team since I became Mayor,” said Dixon in a statement. “His skill and dedication has been critical in advancing our ambitious legislative agenda through City Hall and in Annapolis. I know he will provide the right kind of leadership for my staff and city agencies.”
Millard pointed to his 18 months of service in Dixon’s office, citing it as an honorable opportunity.
“It has been an honor to serve Mayor Dixon for the past 18 months,” said Millard. “I look forward to this expanded role in the administration, and to working with Mayor Dixon to make Baltimore cleaner, greener, healthier and safer.”
