‘Bush Legacy Tour’ rolls into Baltimore, bashes Republican candidates

BALTIMORE – The Bush Legacy Tour bus made a stop here Thursday, but it wasn’t to celebrate the 43rd President of the United States as his time in office comes to an end. The tour, which is paid for by Americans United for Change, is currently traveling from state-to-state criticizing what they feel are the president’s failed policies.

“The goal of the Bush Legacy Tour is to cement Bush’s legacy while he is still in office,” said press secretary Julie Blust in an interview with PolitickerMD.com. “And the other main goal is to make sure that we don’t bash Bush. It’s not about him as a person. It’s about the people that helped him along the way.”

“We’re talking about John McCain, we’re talking about Mitch McConnell, we’re talking about John Boehner, we’re talking about all of these conservative members of congress that voted along with his policies that helped all of this to happen.”

The organization says that the 45-foot long, 28-ton bus is powered by clean bio-diesel fuel. The tour begins outside of the bus, where a talk is held for visitors. After a few brief words the doors are open.

The inside of the vehicle resembles a modern museum. Anti-Bush rhetoric lines the inner walls, video is used to help push the message, and a mock gas pump sits in the back of the vehicle reading “GOP – Grand ‘Oil’ Party.”

Although the bus parked in front of Baltimore City Hall on Thursday, Blust explained that the bus will often park in front of congressional offices to help convey the message.

“We stop in front of their offices and the idea is to link them to their legacy too,” she said.

The tour makes it way to Ohio on Saturday and will end in Dallas, Texas on October 15.
