Nancy Lineman, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown's press secretary, will be leaving the lieutenant governor's office next week for a position at the Maryland Department of Human Recourses. The departure was announced last month.
In an interview with PolitickerMD.com, Deputy Press Secretary Michael Raia said the lieutenant governor's office was in the process of determining what direction they wanted to go with the position and that applications had been submitted.
Raia told PolitickerMD.com that finding a new press secretary wasn't an urgent matter, but that whoever filled the spot would need to have a "proven track record of successful media operations." He also noted that the position would have to be filled with someone who they felt would display the same professionalism as Lineman.
Lineman was hired as the lieutenant governor's press secretary earlier this year.
